Roger Salquist has over 35 years experience as a senior executive in the Life Sciences Industry. He was a Founding Partner and Managing Director of Bay City Capital, a San Franciso-based merchant bank and Venture Capital Partnership. Previously he was Chairman and CEO of Calgene Inc. for twelve years. Calgene was a Davis, California-based agribusiness biotechnology company that was acquired by Monsanto Corporation in 1996. Mr. Salquist has served as Chairman of Endosonics Corporation, Celtrix Pharmaceutical, and, most recently, Lipomics Technologies, a metabolomics diagnostic discovery company. He also served on the Board of Directors of Collagen Corporation for over ten years.
Mr. Salquist was Founding Chairman of the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) Food and Agriculture Division. Mr. Salquist received his BA and MBA from Stanford University and he is currently a Trustee of the University of San Francisco. He served for six years as an officer in the US Navy Nuclear Submarine Service. He is currently retired and lives in Friday Harbor, Washington, and Davis California.
